Questions

The short version of how this works.

What is Bustabid?

Bustabid is a public pay-to-rank leaderboard with a live crash multiplier. You pay to place a listing (a name, a one-line pitch, and a link) on the board. During each round a multiplier climbs from 1.00x, and you can cash out once to lock it in and multiply your placement score. Placement is guaranteed in every outcome, and nothing is ever paid out.

How does the multiplier work?

Each round the multiplier climbs from 1.00x along a fixed mathematical curve until the round busts at a point that was fixed in advance. Cash out before the bust and your entry ranks at your entry amount times the multiplier you locked. The multiplier is a bonus applied to a non-cash leaderboard score, nothing more.

Is Bustabid gambling?

No. You buy leaderboard placement that is guaranteed in every outcome: your entry always ranks at least at face value, so nothing you pay is ever forfeited to chance. Chance only affects a bonus to a non-cash score, and nothing on Bustabid can ever be converted to money.

What do I get for my money?

A ranked listing on a public leaderboard: your name, your pitch, and a clickable link, in front of everyone watching the board. Placement is a promotional good, like advertising. Higher placement means more visibility and more clicks to your site, and the board tracks the clicks each listing receives.

What happens if the round busts?

Your placement holds at face value. An entry that rides a round into a bust still ranks at exactly what you paid; the round simply did not add a bonus. A bust never takes anything away from you.

How do I know the game is fair?

Every round's bust point was fixed before launch by a public SHA-256 hash chain, with its commitment published before any round flew, so the server cannot choose or reorder bust points. When a round settles, its hash is revealed and anyone can recompute the bust point in their own browser on that round's verification page, linked from the round history.

How much does it cost?

Entries start at $1 with no upper limit; the amount is your choice. Every dollar appears on the board at least at face value, and you can enter as many rounds as you like. Totals ease 20% every 7 days so the top of the board stays contestable.
